HOMA BAY Governor Cyprian Awiti wants a share of the equalisation fund for his county. Awiti said Homa Bay meets the critera used to award the 14 marginalised counties Sh3.4 billion equalisation fund every year. “We meet all the requirements. We have one of the worst health indicators. We suffer food insecurity, impassable roads and water scarcity,” Awiti said. He said they need the money because their shoestring budget cannot allow them to deliver quality services to the people.
