Small schools + no labs = poor results, says principal

LACK of laboratories has been blamed for poor results in small schools in the 2013 KCSE exams. Paul Were, the principal of Winyo Secondary School in Rongo district said most small schools lack laboratories for experiments. Some students from the school who sat the exam associated said their poor performance was caused by inadequate facilities. Only four students qualified to join public universities. A student told the Star they are facing major challenges in science subjects, which they believe was the cause of the poor grades in the last year's KCSE. The school had a meanscore of 4.67.
