Cops allege bias in their transfers

Some police officers at the Siaya divisional headquarters are worried about the way some of their colleagues easily influence their transfers. A number of officers told the Star that some of their colleagues have stayed in the same work place for more than eight years, while newly-posted officers get their transfers easily. They said senior officers get compromised to selectively give transfers to those who pay allegiance to them. “To curb the rising crime in Siaya town, officers who have stayed in the same place for long need to be transferred,” an officer said.
