Makhanu new Kakamega majority leader

KAKAMEGA Governor Wycliffe Oparanya had to intervene in the picking of the county assembly’s majority leader after a stalemate during elections on Thursday. Oparanya retreated to his office with Robert Makhanu and Abdi Karim who had tied at 29 votes in the first round of the polls at the assembly chambers. “I would like to retreat with the two candidates alone to my office,” he said.
