HOMA Bay Health executive Dr Lawrence Oteng’ has denied reports that there are shortages of essential drugs in Homa Bay District Hospital. Speaking to the Star in his office yesterday, he said they have bought adequate medicine but there was delay in procurement. “Essential drugs are available and the hospital but through cost-sharing. Dispensaries and health centres give out drugs free,” Oteng' said. Homa bay Hospital administrator Patrick Olela also denied shortage of drugs. He said they have been directing patients to buy only non-essential drugs at the pharmacy.
