Council staff on a go slow

Close to 30 casual workers at the Rongo Town Council have downed their tools over nonpayment of their salaries for two months. Speaking to the press, Moses Ochieng Ouma the chairperson of Casual Workers Union said their attempts to get audience have been frustrated by the council’s top officials. Sande Alila the Rongo Town Council administrator however said the issue is being handled at the county and there is no need for the workers to panic. He said the casuals will receive their arrears “in a few weeks time.”
