Homa Bay and Migori counties former councilors have appealed to the national government to pay them gratuity. Homa Bay-Migori Councilors Welfare Forum chairman Elisha Chieng said councilors in other counties should do the same. “Though we are considered retired, we petition the national government to pay us gratuity as a send-off,” Chieng said. They accused county governments of ignoring them in giving out county appointments. Some of the projects initiated by the county governments were initiated by the councilors, he said.
