Residents in Kisii county have said not to allow a private developer to occupy land donated to Kenya Agricultural Research Institute by their grandfathers. More than 30,000 residents of Isana village in Bosongo location said their grandfathers voluntarily gave the land to the institution for research and went to settle elsewhere. The residents accused developer Jared Kangwana of taking five acres from the research firm and claiming he was given the land by retired President Moi.
