A rehabilitation centre in Migori has appealed to the county government and local institutions to help reduce the number of street children in the town. Destitute Network, which has reformed more than 20 street children, says primary school heads are not supporting their reform efforts. “We can’t fully cater for the welfare of these children,” coordinator Thomas Juma told the press in Migori town yesterday. One of their graduates was recently ejected from Muslim Primary School, he said. “He was told he was unable to cope with the school rules, which demoralised him,” Juma said.
