A sugarcane farmer in Awendo has threatened to move to court to force Sony Sugar Company to pay Sh12million over un-harvested cane. Speaking to the press yesterday in Migori town, Ely Odera said the sugar milling company failed to honour an agreement signed in 2002. The deal was to plant sugarcane in his 10.4 acres for three harvesting seasons. Odera said the company only harvested his mature sugarcane once from the land and recovered their loan.
