Co-op official rejects cotton farmers polls

The election of the Kimira Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative Society ended violently after Nyando district cooperative officer rejected the list of elected officials. Gideon Oduol rejected the list saying there is gender imbalance as no woman was elected. He ordered for a fresh election to be conducted on a later date. Tom Ombie said it is unfair to reject officials elected by more than 100 farmers. The farmers said they will snub fresh elections called by the officer.
