Bungoma's revenue down by 40 per cent

Revenue collection in Bungoma county dropped by 40 per cent between April and June. Documents seen by the Star show that the county government collected Sh28 million in March. However, the amount dropped to Sh17.8 million in April, Sh12.8 million in May and Sh12.7 in June. Governor Kenneth Lusaka blamed the decrease on the reluctance by the tax collectors who were uncertain of their jobs after the county government took over.
