Rongo medical officer Diana Odhiambo has said the current national polio drive will also target adults who have a history of physical weakness. Speaking to the Star yesterday, Odhiambo said people who have developed sudden weaknesses especially on their limbs need to get vaccinated as a measure of reducing the severity of the disease. “We have cases of adults who didn’t get immunised against polio in good time and have developed complications at a later stage, some of whom their limbs have been rendered useless,” she said.
