VIHIGA Governor Moses Akaranga has allayed fears that chiefs and assistant chief will lose their jobs following the appointments of subcounty and ward administrators. He said services provided by the chiefs at the grassroots level are crucial. Akaranga said county administrators will work in harmony with the chiefs. “I am not pushing for the removal of chiefs and their assistants. I recognise the roles they play at the village level and I want them to work closely with subcounty and wards administrators,” he said.
