The court of appeal has revoked the nomination of a Bungoma MCA by the United Republican Party. A three-bench judge ruled that the gazettement of Irene Chesang was done contrary to the Political Party Act. Jane Ingo, who filed the appeal, said Chesang's nomination was unlawful. She said when the party presented the list of nominees, her name was not there. Ingo, who was proposed as the first person to be nominated by URP said Chesang was not a member of the party.
