CHARCOAL dealers and consumers in Bunyala subcounty have been warned against cutting down trees to burn charcoal and for firewood. Addressing the press at his office in Port Victoria town yesterday, Bunyala forest officer Peter Wafula said the directive has been communicated to all charcoal dealers. “The most affected is Mumbaka Forest that is bare due to arbitrary felling of trees,” he said. “I have dispatched a team to comb the area and arrest those found defying the directive.”
