MOURNERS and churches are the main beneficiaries of the Busia county Finance Bill passed by MCAs on Wednesday. It took the county assembly members about 11 hours to pass the bill but after some contentious clauses raised by the public were amended. The infamous Sh200 charge per person for viewing bodies at the mortuary was scrapped, while the charge for washing and dressing bodies was reduceed from Sh1,000 to Sh600. Charges to use the chapel at the Busia District Hospital mortuary were decreased to Sh500 from Sh1,500. The time limit for collecting dead bodies was increased from 10 to 14 days...
