SUGARCANE farmers from Muhoroni and Nandi have threatened to boycott cane farming if the government does not resolve fluctuation of prices. The farmers want the government to come up with an Act to help in determining cane pricing per tonne to avoid exploitation. Julius Kibiwot, a farmer, said the local factories frustrate farmers during the harvesting season. “Most of the local millers have reduced cane prices to Sh2,800 from Sh3,500 per tonne,” he said.
