The Kisii government plans to table a bill at the county assembly to have it pay NHIF contributions for the needy elderly persons. Governor James Ongwae urged the MCAs to pass the bill when presented to the House so that his government can expedite the exercise. He said the elderly persons who suffer from various ailments are unable to pay hospital bills when admitted. Ongwae said this has prompted some of them to sell their property to set off the bills. He was speaking at Gusii Institute of Technology during Gusii leaders consultative meeting yesterday.
