A lecturer at the Kenyatta University has asked farmers in Migori county to revert to food crops instead of cash crops to boost food security. Tobias Arudo said the current food shortage in the county is due to farmers ignoring food crops like rice, maize, millet and cassava. He said such crops do well in the county as opposed to cash crops. Arudo was addressing farmers at Uriri town during the launch of Bidii Sacco last Saturday.
