THE Busia county assembly Budget and Appropriation Committee has reduced personnel costs in the 2014-15 financial year. The Sh5.5 billion budget estimates was presented to the assembly by committee chairman Godfrey Odongo on Thursday. Odongo said the committee recommended the reduction of personnel cost to Sh203 million to cater for 51 staff instead of 161. This will reduce the costs to Sh531 million. The committee also allocated Sh30 million to the clerks department for recruitment of new staff. Sh19 million was allocated to MCAs department grauity provisions and Sh20 million for capacity...
