THE national government has been asked to inject Sh4 billion to the cash-strapped Mumias Sugar Company for its survival. MPs Benjamin Washiali (Mumias East) and his West counterpart Johnson Naicca said the firm is the economic backbone of Western region. "If allowed to go down, it will affect the livelihood of more than 6 million Kenyans,"Naicca said. The MPs asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to bail out the firm so that it can resume normal operations.
