Sculpture sparks queries

A world-renowned sculptor from Kisii county yesterday told the ministry of Art and Culture to explain to Kenyans what went wrong in transporting a 13-tonne elephant sculptor to Washington, DC for the Kenya cultural show in July. Elkana Ong’esa, 70, said it is humiliating that the sculpture is still in Nairobi, months after the cultural event ended in the US. “There is no need to transport the sculpture from Nairobi now to any anywhere outside the country.
