TWO MPS from Busia county have accused the Kenya Power and Lighting Company of charging high electricity connection fees. Butula's and Michael Onyura and his Matayos counterpart Geoffrey Odanga said the high connection levies charged by the company has locked out many residents from accessing electricity. “Scores of people at the grassroots cannot installing electricity at their homes. The power provider should reduce the charges so that more people access electricity,” Onyura said. They were speaking at Bumala B Secondary School in Butula subcounty yesterday.
