Vote recount ordered by Kisii High Court in a petition challenging election of Zebedeo Opore as Bonchari MP revealed that he was defeated by the petitioner John Oroo Oyioka by four votes. In a report on recount presented to Justice Ruth Sitati by High Court deputy registrar Lucy Kaintany, Oyioka who lost to Opore in the March 4 election by five votes emerged the winner in the count by scoring 8,967 against Opore's 8,963 votes.
