AGRICULTURE Cabinet Secretary Felix Koskei has said the government is revamping the sugar industry to increase its crushing capacity as they strive for the liberalisation of the sugar trade system by 2014. Speaking in Chemelil on Saturday, Koskei said the industry must find ways to be competitive as the Common Market for East and Southern Africa safeguards period comes ends next year.
