MALABA police yesterday intercepted a lorry mistaken for carrying ivory. After a search at the border police station, police established the consignment was actually long horns of Uganda's Ankole cows. Teso North police boss Lucas Ogara said the lorry was intercepted on suspicion it carried ivory. “We did not want to take chances. We had to offload the contents of the lorry to establish beyond doubt that there was no trace of ivory,” he said. Ogara was addressing the press at the Malaba police station yesterday.
