EXPECTANT mothers in Nyando subcounty are forced to deliver at home as they cannot access Ahero subdistrict hospital as it remained closed. The hospital has not been in operation since February last year. A payment dispute between the contractor and an Italian corporation led to its closure. The Ministry of Health did not pay Sh13 million to Trapezoid Construction Company after the rehabilitation work. The dispute is attributed to a request for compensation for extra works done.
