FORMER veteran soccer star Bob Oyugi has faulted plans by the government to tax athletes on the cash prizes they win during international matches. Oyugi, who doubles up as an international coach, said the move will lead to a massive sports drain in the country as most of the athletes will seek greener pastures elsewhere. He asked the government to formulate a programme that will compel athletes to “give back” to the society by supporting various sporting activities.
