A Siaya county ward representative was yesterday detained for six hours at a court cell for defying court sermons. Siaya resident magistrate Jared Sani ordered for the arrest of Leonard Oriaro (Central Alego ward) for failure to comply with ten sermons issued to him on diverse dates. Oriaro is said to have applied for a surety of Sh40,000 to have a suspect released from court last year and the suspect failed to honour sermons. Sani however later ordered for his release on condition that he produces the suspect within two weeks.
