Traders in Iten town last Friday protested over frequent electrical blackouts. The barbers, salon, cyber cafe and hotel operators said they incur huge losses because of the blackouts. They said thieves break in premises when the lights go out. Trader Wilfred Kihara said the Kenya Power and Lighting Company should be responsible for the losses. He said one of their colleagues was robbed of Sh300,000 and computers. Kihara urged KPLC to fix the problem because their businesses rely on electricity.
