Cheap imports hurting us - cane farmers

Sugar cane farmers in Migori county have raised fears of collapse of the government owned Sony Sugar Millers over influx of illegal cheap sugar. Farmers, Sony workers and transporters had planned to convene a meeting in Awendo town to pressure the government through Kenya Sugar Board to release Sh400million subsidy to the millers yesterday. Workers have been restless following low sales .
